The company’s stated position
In its January 2025 regulatory update, Inhance argues that fluorination provides important barrier protection and says process changes reduced unintended PFAS formation by more than 90 percent. These are company statements. They should appear with that attribution, not be converted into independent findings by the publication.
What a comparison should contain
A reader needs to know which baseline supports a percentage, what was sampled and whether the before-and-after methods are comparable. A reduction claim and a historical EPA test may concern different process conditions. Placing the two numbers alongside each other without that context can manufacture a contradiction or imply a resolution that has not been established.
Fair scrutiny remains scrutiny
Including the response does not require accepting it uncritically. It makes it possible to ask better questions about verification, coverage and residual uncertainty. The strongest article can state what the regulator found, what the company disputes and what evidence would reconcile the accounts. The reviewed company statement is linked directly so readers can assess its language themselves.
